Alexys never planned to spend her days processing paperwork for cryptid field teams, but when her father was killed working as a Warden in the Appalachian Mountains, her dreams of heroic legacy-carrying got a practical makeover. Now she manages the Appalachian Wardens from behind a desk at Entity — the private corporation responsible for categorizing, tracking, and generally wrangling the world's paranormal population — and she's perfectly fine with that. Mostly.

What she's decidedly not fine with is Nic, Entity's infuriatingly competent Director of Research and Cataloging. He questions her decisions, challenges her authority, and shows up to every interdepartmental meeting looking like he was personally cataloged under "devastatingly attractive." Their professional rivalry is the stuff of legend in the break room, and Alexys intends to keep it that way.

Except Nic has access to classified research that might explain exactly what happened to her father. And getting close to that information means getting close to him. And getting close to him means discovering that the man she's spent months dismissing might actually be the one person in this bizarre, bureaucratic, creature-filled world who truly understands her.

This slow-burn romantasy proves that the most dangerous thing Entity has ever cataloged might just be an enemies-to-lovers workplace tension that neither of them can outrun.
