Being offered as a sacrifice to the Witch is insulting enough—being locked in his bedchamber like an unwanted pet is something else entirely.

Pandora has spent her whole life inside the kingdom behind the Wall, bound by chains that curl around her mind as surely as any shackle. The stories of what lurks beyond were meant to frighten, to control. She never imagined she'd be handed over to prove it.
