Untamed Beast: An Arranged Marriage Dark Mafia Romance (Heirs of Obsession)

About this book
Untamed Beast is a standalone dark mafia romance with arranged marriage, a feisty but innocent heroine, enemies to lovers, and a morally grey hero who burned down his asylum to claim her. Ends with a HEA and no cliffhangers. Madison Juno's spicy mafia romances are about obsessed, morally grey men and the dark side of love. (But they always end with a HEA.) To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness. And then… the wedding night happens. Or rather, doesn’t happen. Leks takes one look at terrified‑virgin Natalia and “nopes” right out of the room. King behavior. A villain with layers. I couldn’t read this novel fast enough! But then the third‑act meltdown hits, and suddenly this same man is offering her the choice between being discarded or being his “whore.” And she chooses door number two. GIRL. Where did your spine go? Where did your earlier sass go? Blink twice if you need help. When they reunite, I was ready for fireworks, fury, a slap, him groveling at her feet, begging her forgiveness-something. Instead, she hugs him like he just got back from a business trip. A reunion that should have detonated, barely sparked. I liked this book a lot (4 stars!), but the characters’ personalities shifted so drastically halfway through that it felt like I was reading about different people. Leks and Natalia's relationship is full of distrust and mayhem. They both hate each other due to what they have been told about the other, and Leks uses her in his quest for revenge. Forcing Natalia into marrying him and living in his space, it is a dance of avoidance as their chemistry begins to build. There are quite a few secrets, lies, and revelations which tests the boundaries of their relationship and feelings towards each other. This is the first book I've read from this author and didn't realize it was the third book in the series. It read as a standalone, so I don't believe I missed anything of importance not reading the first two novels. I think the story would have been better if some parts had better explanations (sometimes it felt like it jumped ahead without a natural segue) as well as some continuity issues (like how did some people just appear in the room, and in one scene, it felt like Leks would need 3 hands with what he was doing). On the day of her wedding, her fifth, Natalia is ready to stop this one too. With a packet of information about her intended at the ready, Natalia is ready for the day to be over. Leks is ready to meet his soon-to-be bride. She doesn’t know he is her future, and his secret that will turn her world upside down. Unknown to Natalia, she is a pawn to her father. He has agreed to another marriage proposal to save himself. Natalia’s father has agreed that Natalia will marry Leks. Leks is the accused murderer of Natalia’s older twin brothers. But he is to be her husband. I am glad I watched “The Green Arrow” because I feel it gave me a little understanding of the Bratva. The Bratva is the Russian Mafia. Natalia’s family is part of the Bratva Council. So the twist of Natalia’s marriage is darker than you think. Leks agreed to this marriage as a means of revenge. Natalia is unaware of the underlying issues. But she and Leks are drawn to each other and this makes everything more difficult. The chemistry between the FMC and MMC? INSANE. Every scene had so much tension and emotion that I literally couldn’t stop reading. The FMC was strong, smart, and actually felt layered instead of being overshadowed, and the MMC had that protective/possessive energy while still showing vulnerability underneath it all 👀 Their dynamic was addictive from start to finish. The emotional moments hit just as hard as the spicy ones, and every interaction felt important. Madison Juno really knows how to create characters that crawl into your brain and stay there.
